Sure, DC had already successfully revived many of their characters that made them famous in the 40's - in addition to ones that never went away (i.e. Premiering a matter of months before the other character, Spider-Man, that is considered to have ushered-in "The Marvel Age of Comics," that is, loosely defined, the period in the early 60's which led to the explosion of the popularity of the superhero genre, The Fantastic Four #1 is practically "ground-zero" for what modern hero titles would become for the next 50 years (or so)!
